Goal Setting

Goal setting is a huge part of not only your business, but your personal life too!

Success is totally subjective. My idea of success could be completely different to yours, that’s what makes it so personal. All of our goals and aspirations are personal to what we want to achieve.

Setting goals, whether personally or professionally, gives you a clear vision for your future. You’ve got to identify your end goals. What are the biggest things you want to achieve in your life? Once you know these, you can break them down into smaller goals.

These smaller goals should act as stepping stones. They should be small, actionable targets and goals that you can achieve in a shorter time period that will help you get closer and closer to those end goals.

Believe it or not, it’s been proven that those who write down their goals are 20% more likely to achieve them than those who don’t. This goes to show that it’s so important to write down and keep track of what you want to achieve, and how you’re going to achieve it. Having it out in front of you will help you envision your goals and motivate you to keep pushing towards them.

There’s different types of goals…

Your goals may be personal or professional, so within your business, or within your personal life. Either way, goal setting is definitely an essential part of progression.

Your professional goals may be to make enough money to step away from the business, or to manage a team, or to step away from your day job.

Your personal goals could be to become more independent, or focus more on self-care and learning to say no.

You’ve got to keep yourself on track by regularly going back and reflecting on these goals. I know sometimes your path can become clouded or confusing, but reflection is a huge part of getting back on track.

Sit and think. Are my end goals still the same? Do my current values match what I want to achieve? If things have changed, your stepping stone goals may have changed too. Once you’ve identified these things you should be able to get back on track and continue to make great progress.

I can’t stress this enough…

You can’t necessarily achieve your biggest end goals overnight. The big things take time, and we can’t hold ourselves to the ridiculous standards and pressures that are put on us by social media. Move at your own pace!

Once you’re clear on what kind of life you really want you can start to say no to the things that aren’t going to help you progress, and achieve that life. Say no to the things that don’t serve you, and say YES to new opportunities, new things that are going to help you achieve your goals.

New Year’s Resolutions

As we come up to 2022, a lot of people are going to be thinking about their New Year’s Resolutions. Are these the same as goals? Yes and no.

The resolutions may be to quit smoking, or lose weight or save money.

New Year’s Resolutions are essentially goals for the New Year. But the difference is that 80% of resolutions tend to fail within the first month. But why?

A lot of resolutions tend to fail because;
They’re too vague, not enough detail
There was no real planning or thought behind it
They’re not realistic or achievable

The goals and resolutions you set out need to be detailed, well thought out, and realistic within an achievable timeframe.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/2″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][image_with_animation image_url=”2702″ alignment=”center” animation=”Fade In” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”medium_depth” max_width=”75%”][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/2″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_text]

When goal setting, think SMART

Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Realistic
Timely

Make sure your resolutions fit into these to give yourself the highest chance of success. If your goals aren’t realistic, it can be pretty demotivating.

Everyone’s goals and aspirations are so different – they’re so personal, so they have to be super specific to you, and what you really want to achieve.

If you’d like some help we’ve put together a Goal Setting Handbook to help you – you can find that here.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/2″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_text]

Goal Setting Retreats

We haven’t held one for a little while now but before 2020 we used to hold a ton of goal setting retreats! This picture is one of the first we ever held.

The retreats are always SO much fun because everyone leaves with clarity and confidence, and leaves absolutely buzzing about their businesses.

We all spend a couple of days together not only planning and goal setting, but physically taking action so everyone can start making progress. Because after all, you can plan all you want, but what’s the point if you’re not going to take action and implement your plans?

We’re currently in the works of holding another goal setting retreat in January so we can start the New Year with a bang. So do let me know if you’d be interested in joining us and we can send over the dates and details to you.

Goal setting is super important!
Forward planning, setting goals, and implementing them is absolutely essential as business owners. Without it we may struggle to have a clear direction of where we want to take our businesses and what the next moves may be.

Let’s get those goals ready for 2022![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” top_margin=”200″ width=”1/2″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][image_with_animation image_url=”2943″ alignment=”center” animation=”Fade In” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”medium_depth” max_width=”100%”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
