Four tips to why time management is essential

It’s so important to manage our time wisely, when we don’t, we get overwhelmed with our workload, that’s what can lead to a quick burnout. That’s why time management is so important!

It’s about optimizing the 24hrs we do have in the day, and what that time looks like.

Planning is a great way to optimist our time, to utilize it in the best way possible.

Maximizing your 24hr day is so essential.

Planning can be anything from having a structured monthly plan, or a weekly planner that breaks down every hour of the day.

For you to be able to plan ahead, it’s a good way to ask yourself those basic questions. What does your business goals look like? What do you want to achieve? What are your long term and short term goals?

Once you have that plan,

  • Time block

Time blocking your diary is important!

A must to be able to utilize all of the hours you have. It’s a good reminder to block time for you as well as your business!

You can’t run your business on empty. Always give yourself that time to rest, rejuvenate, to be on your best form.

Time blocking gives you a structure to focus on tasks in a timely manner.

Stick to the time slots that you give yourself to be able to action, become more focused.

  • Have the right systems and people

If you feel you spend too much time on a task, a similar task you seem to be doing often, make your life easier and more structured by having an automated system in place. For example automated email system in place.

Another great time saver is outsourcing.

Outsourcing other people to do the work you don’t have the time to do

  • Simply saying no

When you’re running a business it’s so tempting to say yes to everything, because we want to grow and help as many people as we can, but sometimes that’s not doable.

We shouldn’t feel guilty for saying no. We shouldn’t feel committed to everything that comes our way.

One of the most important time management skills is the ability to let go of anything that’s not right for your business.

By keeping a track of our time we can reflect by going back over our weeks to see where our time is being spent.

If you are feeling like you are questioning where has your time gone, it’s good to reflect over your weeks, especially if you are questioning where your time is going.
